Super Crazy Fun KMFDM No Sleep Whoa… Do I Really Look That Evil? Day

GreatUnpublished have done me the wonderful service of slapping the cover of The Teaching Emotion along with yours truly looking über-evil sly on their homepage. Neat. If you’re new to the site, have a gander at the goings-on of deepsicks and discover the connection ‘tween what you see and what you can’t get away from. …Or would that be disparity? Deconstruction? Contradiction? A necessary < fill with blanks >? In a related connection/contradiction conundrum, until the lurkers stop lurkin,’ the messageboard has been renamed the Epich, Bree, and .meg Carnival of Putting Down the Flesh. The first person who fully “gets it” also gets a prize—I’ll make sure it’s cool. So. I’m going to KMFDM this evening; late tonight I’m driving no sleep to visit my grandpa in western North Dakota (I finally get my road trip!). He’s a big Tesla fan—no, no, not the band, the magnet, coil transformer guy. Grandpa’s also into quack science and conspiracy theory. Should be… interesting.

Digital camera fun and fists against apathy

News items will now have headings. You like? Good! So this is me delaying the inevitable—homework—what the hell was I thinking? Summer school? So why the update, um… I changed a pic on the bio page and uploaded some shots so everyone can see my new pants, burned foot, and a week’s wages, all linked in the “things that make me happy” thread in the forum. Epich tells me GIFs load faster than JPGs despite their larger file sizes. This seems rather counterintuitive, and I somehow screw up GIF conversion (yet another symptom of my not knowing what I’m doing) so we’ll see if anything happens in the “your pictures take forever to load” arena. Um, what else…. With his band Ugly Casanova, Isaac Brock of Modest Mouse mastery proves beyond doubt that everything he touches turns to gold (not to say he carries the group—these guys are all amazing and new music keeps me breathing). Despite my previous eye-outs, don’t expect Instrumental to grow anytime soon (school + work [obligation] = slow death + no time/motivation for words). I itch for open road, uninterrupted sky. I am the weather, sedating sweaty heavy sinking in holding on. Consuming.

Hello hello. I made a flyer this weekend for real world promotion. Those of you who buy the book can now get a buck off if you agree to accept a modest amount (20-50 or so, depending on supplies) to post/leave at various bookstores, disc joints, coffee shops, clubs, or wherever the cool kids hang out in your area. If anyone desires similar promotion for their book/zine/art/website/band, etc. we can do a trade, or if anyone wants to do it just for the hey, email your address and I’ll send you a fistful. Click here to see the flyer and the regurgitation of this news item in its official, “for posterity” form. What else, let’s see… DJ Shadow’s “Private Press” owns my stereo and I start summer school in a week < cries >. The city looked mighty sinister this evening, dark blue gray and aching haze, walls of clouds enclosing the skyscrapers (mmm, i love) thunder thunder lightening ahead…. Speaking of which, I started Underworld’s Instrumental to Change bit… it’s get tin there. (Does the madness ever cease? NO!) Oh yeah, I stripped down the “obtaining page” (again) and the guestbook/forum banners don’t float anymore. Huzzah.

I recently discovered that GreatUnpublished, the printers for TTE, are using the first 15 pages of the novel as the sample for the Special Imprint book. Translation?—I am the paragon for how to get things done (and to boot, I get free advertising). Rock. If for some zany reason you want to see it, click here (it’s linked from their FAQ’s). In other news, due to the confusion of several readers, I’ve included a “How the Hell Do I Pronounce Her Name?” guide on the author notes page—be enlightened and impress (prove wrong) all your friends. Lastly, sleeping in a real bed rules. I’d taunt you with a “be jealous!” but you probably already sleep in a real bed. It’s nice, isn’t it.
